The Foster Grandparent Program with Head Start of Rockland recruits income eligible adults 55 years of age and older to serve as mentors and tutors for children. The Foster Grandparents serve in public educational programs, Head Starts and Day Care Centers to make sure that children in their care get plenty of individual attention. The volunteers may participate in class activities, but their main focus is the one-on-one time with the children.
